I visited the hair salon two days before the wedding.
Because my hair isn’t quite as thick and gorgeous as it once was, I don’t frequent the salon.
Year every year, my tiny, wispy strands resemble a collection of cobwebs more.
Every day that passes, my scalp gets more obvious…

I was already really embarrassed when I saw myself in the mirror.
And until it was winter and I could cover it up with my beanie hat, I detested wearing my hair down in public.
However, this was for the most important day of my daughter’s life: her wedding.

I was having a good time, but only briefly.

My forehead to the top of my skull could now be seen through it since it had gotten so thin.
My parting appeared more severe than ever before.
On top, it appeared incredibly lifeless and flat…
I can’t recall what the stylist said after that.
Everything was a haze.
I merely recall paying and leaving as swiftly as I could.
I stumbled into my husband’s arms when I got home.
“Look at my hair, our daughter’s wedding is in TWO days!”
He made an effort to reassure me, but I could tell he was having trouble.
He gave me an expression that suggested I was a 3-year-old who had cut their own hair with scissors.
